{"id":420,"date":"2013-04-09T07:39:12","date_gmt":"2013-04-09T12:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/?p=420"},"modified":"2018-04-06T19:59:47","modified_gmt":"2018-04-07T00:59:47","slug":"day-40-pewpewpew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/day-40-pewpewpew\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 40 &#8211; PEWPEWPEW Photo Experiment (total success)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3254.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-421\" src=\"http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3254-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3254\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3254-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/stillwellgray.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3254-785x588.jpg 785w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is an extension of the work I&#8217;ve done on product shots for <a title=\"iScotch\" href=\"http:\/\/iscotch.ca\">iscotch.ca<\/a> &#8211; I used the Canon with a long exposure, and a strobe light app on my smartphone.\u00a0 I really enjoy being able to do these tricks &#8220;in camera&#8221; &#8211; I&#8217;m too lazy to learn Photoshop to rework an image after it&#8217;s taken.\u00a0 And I&#8217;ve always felt that, for example, the original Star Wars effects were the best ever, because they were real.\u00a0 I love computer graphics for art in animated cartoons and movies, but i don&#8217;t see the appeal of having a bunch of real people not actually looking at or touching things in front of a green screen.\u00a0 Is it a trick of the camera?\u00a0 Sure.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s a trick IN the camera.\u00a0 Those lights were actually there, that&#8217;s why the environmental lighting is perfect without having to do a bunch of math processing and waiting hours for rendering.\u00a0 Do all the lasers line up with the blasters?\u00a0 No, but that&#8217;s a user error: I forgot to account for the camera&#8217;s perspective.
